About Pomodoro Timer
The Pomodoro Technique pairs 25 minutes of focused work with a 5-minute break. After four cycles you take a longer 15-minute break. The Pomodoro page handles the cycle automatically, beeps softly at every transition, and counts how many full focuses you have completed. It is designed for projection at the back of a classroom or for the corner of your own monitor.
Why 25 Minutes?
The original Pomodoro Technique was calibrated on Francesco Cirillo's tomato-shaped kitchen timer in the late 1980s. Twenty-five minutes is long enough to make real progress on a single task but short enough to resist the urge to check your phone. Research on attention span suggests that most knowledge workers can sustain deep focus for 20–40 minutes before quality drops. The 25-minute block lands in the sweet spot for most people.
The Full Cycle
A single Pomodoro session is one focus block plus one short break. After four sessions the timer schedules a 15–30 minute long break, giving your brain time to consolidate what you just learned. The counter in the corner tracks how many full focus blocks you have completed today, which is useful for estimating how much deep work you can realistically fit into a day.
How to use it
- 01
Press Start
The 25-minute focus block begins. The digits are big enough to read from across the room.
- 02
Work until the chime
When the focus block ends, a soft tone sounds and the timer flips to break mode automatically.
- 03
Take the break
Step away from the screen during breaks. The timer will chime again when it is time to focus.
- 04
Repeat
After four focus blocks the timer schedules a longer break. Press Reset to start a new session at any time.

Is this tool free?
Yes. Every ScreenTools.co tool is free, with no account, no paywall, and no install.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Layouts adapt to phone and tablet screens. Mobile Safari restricts true fullscreen, but the page fills the viewport and you can add the page to your Home Screen for an app-like experience.
Does it work offline?
Once a tool's page has loaded once, the runtime is local. A few tools that fetch fonts or icons need the first hit online; after that, refresh works offline.
Does this collect my data?
No personal data leaves your browser. The site has lightweight, privacy-respecting analytics for aggregate counts (which tool was opened) and nothing else.
